Spectre: Bond but Bland

I think its safe to say this was on most Franchise Film fans' most-anticipated list for 2015. Unfortunately, for most, I believe it fell short. Not to say it wasn't a good movie, and I do think it lands on the better half when rating Bonds films, BUT after the brilliance of Skyfall, and the hype in bringing back the evil Spectre, this movie didn't quite do it for me.

As usual, Daniel Craig is all in with this role, and he has come to feel as much Bond to me as Connery ever did, and though the character was wasted, Christoph Waltz was excellent. Even the story was OK. It had the car, the gadgets, the women, and the spy thriller feel.

One scene that stands out is the chase/helicopter escape scene. it is beautifully uncut- one smooth, long running shot with what must of been 1000s of extras in full Dia de Muertos garb.

What left me leaving unsatisfied was the perceived lack of climax in the movie. The most exciting scene is the train fight, and that is not even half way through. The story accelerates from there, but the action stands still. The final moments feel dull and quiet compared to the rest of  the movie.
